Win7 Backup Not Seeing Hard Drive
I'm trying to setup backup on my new clean install of Win7. However, backup does not see my backup drive. It's an internal hard drive with enough free space to hold the entire contents of my c: drive. I've used backup before on Vista and Win7 RC1 and never had this issue. Any ideas? I'm using Win7 Professional.

Does the drive show in Computer or Windows Explorer? Does it show in Device Manager? Click on Start then enter dev and click on Device manager at top. Expand Disk Drives. If it shows there but not in COmputer, then all you need to do is assign a drive letter to it. You do this from Disk Management. Click on start then Run, type diskmgmt.msc and press Enter. Right click on the drive (Drive 1 probably) then select Change drive letter. Pick one and see if that fixes this for you.Rich

Thanks for the reply. It turns out that my backup drive (d:) was technically my boot drive, even though c: had the complete Win7 installation. As the boot drive, it was ineligible to hold backups. So I eventually figured out how to move the boot record back to my c: drive, and now backup sees it fine.
