Win7 Printer Share
I have an HP OfficeJet plugged into the USB port on a Win7 Pro machine. I shared out the printer. I can see the printer listed in the directory on the network from XP machines. I can add the printer. I can see the printer properties and printer status. I cannot print however. I have double-checked the Network Sharing settings in the Control Panel and they seem correct. I have unchecked Render Print Jobs on Client Computers. Still cannot print. I get the error from the XP machines and Server "Test Page Failed to Print. Do you want to open the troubleshooter..." If I can connect to the printer, see the job status and view and configure the Printer Properties, why can't I print? Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

You need to install the Windows XP drivers for the printer, on the Windows XP computer and install it as a network printer. These two guides will help you: Install a Network Printer from Windows XP Using the Add Printer Wizard Install a Network Printer from Windows XP Using the Driver Setup
