Win7 backup utility
Whay can't win7 ultimate backup util backup a mapped drive???
ntbackup could do this no prblem, and could be scripted also....
I just want to back up \\server\share (mapped as L:\) to a removable drive I:\
thats it...nothing special and this utiity cannot do it.
I have added \\server\share to a library using a symlink. UAC is disabled, and so is all AV software but stilll fail.....can we have the full ntbackup back for win7 x64 please.....Or do i have to go to xxxnix to get a
read desktop OS?????

This shouldn't be a problem.
Open Windows Backup, and when prompted where you want to save the backup, click on "Save on a network". Then just type in the UNC path and any credentials you need.

You can back up to a network drive. However, to back up a network drive, you need to make it available offline.Please remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question.
