Win7 will not connect to a network with WPA
We recently switched ISPs, and as such had to switch to a new modem/router. I got everything set up and running and tried all my devices. My Windows xp laptop and my ipod touch have no issues connecting, however, my win7 desktop will not connect to the network. I fiddled around with router settings and finally figured out that its the WPA/WEP protection on the network itself. I triple checked the SSID and WPA key, and had it entered correctly, but still no connection. As soon as I tried removing the WPA, BAM, I was connected. I don't know if my router is broadcasting an incompatible signal... it says right on the box that its win7 friendly.... I'm stumped. I've asked and been told that its a driver issue, but I didnt have any trouble connecting to the previous network and I have updated my drivers recently anyways. Any help getting this resolved would be superb... im almost at the point of tearing my hair out in frustration.

Hi, Based on my research, I would like to suggest you try the following: 1. Just for a test, please try other encryption type, such as WEP and see if it works. 2. Update the firmware of the wireless router. 3. I suspect this issue is related to wireless network adapter, if possible, please plug another wireless network adapter to this computer and see if it works. In addition, I would like to share the following with you: Set up a wireless router Hope this helps. Thanks. Nicholas Li - MSFT
