Win7x64 Enterprise failed to update to SP1
Hello, A while ago I thought it would be a splendid idea to update to Service pack 1 for windows 7. In a nutshell, it didn't work. My computer rebooted multiple times trying to configure the update, failed, and reverted the changes. After a few of these cycles it gives up and starts normally. I gave up as well. Every time I turn off my computer and boot it up later this same cycle happens, as if my computer started installing the SP1 the first time, and it desperately wants to finish, but can't. As with every other problem windows 7 has thrown at me, I decided to do a system restore. All my restore points that predate this first attempt at installing SP1 have vanished. Wonderful. So i decided that I can deal with weird stuff while my computer boots up. No harm in that. Since then, I've been noticing some strange quirks here and there. My biggest problem as of right now is that windows media center has deleted the file c:\programdata\microsoft\ehome\recordings\recordings.xml . So now my media center refuses to record tv shows. After trying to find an alternative work around, I'm at a standstill. I want one of two things... revert my computer to the way it was before, ore better yet, install SP1 successfully. I have on my SkyDrive a folder with a bunch of error logs that I was told might help diagnose my problems: http://cid-12e2400dca615af5.office.live.com/self.aspx/.Documents/errorlogwin7sp1.zip This will be the last time I attempt to use windows update for anything besides security updates. I've had more problems with windows update in windows 7 than I did in Vista, and that's saying something.

Run "C:\Windows\System32\lpksetup.exe ", remove all uneeded MUIs, reboot and install Windows 7 Sp1. Now install the updated MUIs from Windows Update again.
