How do I do a REPAIR install , when the system states the version (My Install disk)I'm attempting to use is older than the version on the hard drive?By creating an XP install CD that has the same service pack level as your existing install. The process is called "slipstreaming." See, e.g.,this site , or Google slipstream xp.In order to make an XP SP3 CD, you must have a CD that includes service pack 1a (or 1). The original or "gold" version of XP can't be directly updated to SP3; you have to go to 1a or 2 first. See thisMSKB article .
