Win 7 Laptop Freezes Often
I am running Win 7 on a Dell Latitude E6410. Typical business user with MS Office, MS Outlook and Internet Explorer (productivity apps). I am seeing periodic freezing of the laptop which requires me to power down and restart the machine. I am not encountering a blue screen (yet). I'd like to figure out how to diagnose the root cause of the performance issue and hopefully have it resolved. Thanks in advance.

How old is the laptop. The most common cause of random freezes is overheating from accumulated dust. Download and run Core Temp to see if you are running hot. Anything running at 50 degrees C or higher is questionable. Laptops are much harder to clean than desktops. Try getting a can of compressed air and blowing out all the air vents you can find. If you are overheating, you may have to take it in to a qualified tech for cleaning. Jerry
