Win 7 Machine cannot use any valid DNS servers

ISSUE DESCRIPTION: My windows 7 ultimate (SP1) box cannot use any
valid DNS servers for name resolution. It can ping any ip addresses
both inside and outside the network. I've tried multiple open DNS
servers, all pingable. All nslookups fail, both forward and
recursive. Websites cannot be brought up by ip address either.
Other units on the network are unaffected. No changes were made to
the system when the issue began last night. Both mobilemouse and
itap (methods for controlling curser via smart phones) are
unresponsive now as well. Pinged 8.8.8.8 twenty times, 0 packet
loss.
STEPS TRIED: Disabled and re-enabled ipv4. Flushed DNS cache.
Rebooted. Tried both DHCP and a manual ip address. Restarted
router. Tried ISP's DNS, google's DNS and open verizon dns. Setup
selective start-up via msconfig allowing only Microsoft processes to
run.
NETWORK DRIVER: NVIDIA nForce networking driver: 1.0.1.211
I'm out of ideas short of blowing away the entire installation which
I really do not want to do. Can't find my original install media or
serial number since moving and I really don't wanna buy windows again.
And did you try all this with firewall completely disabled, too?

Correct, windows firewall is completely disabled. The router's firewall only blocks incoming, not outgoing traffic. There is no DMZ setup on the network either.

Hi,
Since this issue happened last night, I suggest you perform a
system restore to check the result.
In addition, try to rest the router and temporarily disable routers all firewall settings to test the issue.
Hope this helps

Resetting router and then disabling firewall fixed it. Weird that it only affected 1 device and that only after resetting router would the firewall really disable, but whatever. Thanks man!
