Win 7 Pro - Index service stops - wsearch
Hello all, I am unable to find a solution to this issue. Win 7 x64 Pro Outlook 2010 The index service fails. I have tried to change the service settings (run as admin) etc... but no luck. I have deleted and 'repaired' the index using the indexing tool in control panel. Still get a an application error. I am ready to smash my head through the monitor. can someone please advise what may be the issue. Do you get the error when trying to open the Outlook? I would recommend you to perform the steps mentioned below and check if it helps: 1. Go to Control Panel -> Programs and Features -> Turn Windows Features on or off. Here ensure that "Indexing Service" is NOT installed. Also ensure that "Windows Search" is installed. This installs the current Indexing and Searching feature. 2. Use System File Checker tool to scan the system. 3. Test the issue in Safe Mode to check the result.Tracy Cai TechNet Community Support
