Win 7 Ultimate - Wireless issues
I recently upgraded from Vista Ultimate to Win 7 Ultimate successfully. To date I've been unsuccessful sustaining a consistent wireless connection with the upgrade, via my Dlink DIR-655 router. It's funny, because my Atom processor XP home version box works just fine, fantastic speed, no drops...FINE.
The wireless connection doesn't occur spontaneously when I logon to Win 7. I usually have to find the connection manually and introduce the SSID. This is getting tiresome. Whether I'm using IE 8 or Firefox 3.63 - does not matter. Web sites don't appear. Google times out. Any sophisticated URL (mainly HTTPS) won't even display without timing out.
And Microsoft - don't blame this on Dlink. This is a Win 7 issue and I want a fix.

Hi,
In addition, please try the following:
1. Please run “ipconfig /all” in a command prompt on this computer and a good computer and compare the outputs.
2. Check if you can ping the URLs and ensure that the computer is using the correct DNS server for name resolutions.
Please run the following command in a command prompt:
>nslookup
>www.microsoft.com (You can also try other URLs.)
Will the correct IP address be returned?
3. If possible, check how it works with a wired connection.
Meanwhile, I would like to share the following with you for your reference:

Hope this helps. Thanks. Nicholas Li - MSFT
