Win 7 can't connect to DNS-323 drives but can configure web based settings but was previously working
I have a Windows 7 Laptop that was working fine but now I am unable to connect to a DNS-323 data server. A second Windows 7 machine is connected to the same network and it is still working fine. I am able to see & alter the web based setting for the DNS-323 unit so the network appears to be ok but I cannot access the files on the drives. When working I had mapped the drive and had been working for several months but stop working over the Christmas break. No settings were changed and the rest of the network is fine. Any ideas?

Hi, Before going any further, I would like to verify what error message did you receive when you access DNS-323 data server? The workaround is domain or workgroup? I suggest to perform these tests to troubleshoot the issue: 1. Run the following commands to see if it works: ipconfig /renew 2. Register DNS via command: ipconfig /flushdns ipconfig /registerdns 3. Access DNS-323 data server via both \\computername or \\IPaddress to see the result 4. Disable IPV6 on your PC 5. Temporally disable firewall on your PC 6. Turn on network discovery in “Network and Sharing Center”---“Advanced sharing settings” 7. Check the permission of this server If the issue persists, please ping from Windows 7 to DNS-32 data server and give us the result. Hope that helps. Hi Leo, Thank you for your response. I have tried all of the above with no success. I have a screen shot of the error that is displayed but unfortunately I don't appear to be able to attach a picture to this page. Is there a way to do this. I have setup new user with full permission on the server and can ping the address successfully. I have just realised that I cannot access the network printers as well so something appears to be blocking this as well. I am using the same connection and access for the internet and emails fine. Regards, Jack.

Jack, Any luck with help from Microsoft on your issue? I have the same problem and am trying to see if HP support will help out as I still have a few months left on my one year warranty. Several of my tech friends think that a Windows Update may have broken the network mapping. Brad

Hello Everyone, Sorry I have been away for a while but I have this afternoon worked out the fix for my problem · The steps I took to resolve this was: 1. Opened up network connections and disable IPv6 on all of my adapters 2. Opened up device manager (start > type "devmgmt.msc") - View > Show Hidden Devices - went under network adapters and deleted all the ones called Microsoft 6to4 adapter (I had more than 100) I have no idea why this happened but my network is running fine. Thanks, Jack.
