Win 7 networkshares and access based database problems ?
I have three win 7 PC and work group. I can see shared folders between two win 7 PC ( PC A and PC B) But "UNES" software that use access based database don't work. UNES is installed both A and B but database locates on B. Old PC (os XP and database) works fine with new win 7 machine but two win 7 PC dos not work. I get message " //network name/name of the shared drive/file/... name dos not known" or something like that. File structure are same old xp machine and new one with win 7. XP disk drive is shared and database location is given like \\name\shared disk name\file name Same schema between Win 7 machines do not work. Need some help Pekkata

Norton Internet security is installed all three Win 7 machines. Old XP's virus program is F Secure. I will try this adwise. Thankswhat

Hi, Please record the error message exactly. Can you ping the network name? How about disabling the security software? What happens if trying to access the sharing directly (without the "UNES" software)? I suggest you disable password protected sharing in Advance sharing settings, update the network adapter driver on problematic PC and perform the clean boot. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135 Best Regards, NikiPlease remember to click "Mark as Answer" on the post that helps you, and to click "Unmark as Answer" if a marked post does not actually answer your question.
