Win 7 update installed Atheros driver - now I can't connect to the internet?
I'm running Win 7 build 7100.
Earlier today I got the popup saying new updates available and - like a fool - I just installed all of them.
(I seem to remember 3)
One of them was an update to the network card, an Atheros driver.
However, shortly after installing it, I could no longer connect to the internet or the local network.
I've tried rebooting, but with no luck - still the same problem. (I'm writing from my laptop...)
The strange thing is that it seems like the internet is up for a very, very short while just after booting, as Diggsby (my IM client) can connect and check for new email.
Anyway, does anyone have a fix for this?
Or a way to roll back the driver to the previous version?
Anything, really?
EDIT:
System restore fixed it... Phew... A PC with no net is no fun :)

If you ever face such problem after updating drivers through windows update, most of the time a system restore will rollback the drivers... Windows 7 always creates a system restore point before updating.. Good to hear you are back online :)

Hi,
To roll back driver, please refer the following article.
How to Roll Back a Device Driver
May be the driver itself is corrupt, or the driver update is not installed properly. You may choose:
Roll back the driver and hide the driver updateOr remove the current driver and reinstall it. Then run Windows Update to see if it is still offered.Arthur Xie - MSFT
