Window 7 64 bit - on new laptop locks up 5 min after startup
I can only run in safe mode. Exactly 5 min after I boot up my laptop, the system locks up and I have to hard boot off. I have tried the MS Config, I rand a virus scan in safe mode....noting is fixing it. It is an HP G62 notebook - 2 months old. I tried system restore to a few days ago and nothing is fixing this....what could this possibly be?Kevin Miller

Try the same issue in safe mode. If it still goes crazy then, it is a bad install, try recovering the computer. There is is slim chance there for a bad implementation (hardware problem) or heat to freeze the system. Try re-seating the Ram, video card and so on. burn your recovery DVDs before any major system change. You can also try to find ultimate bootdisc and try to use an application that loads the computer CPU to 100% to see if it freeeze crashes again. Or you can try to create a custom disc with the application. or search online for a CMD CPU stress test app that you can run from command line, with the system repair disc. and a usb flash drive or a custom system repair disc. Hi, According to your description, that seem the issue related with third party tools or incompatible driver, because it works well in Safe Mode. Please remove all third party tools or programs. Also unplug all unnecessary hardware, and login with Clean Boot. If the issue persists, you’d better contact HP to check if hardware have problem. Hope that helps.
