Who are the manufacturers and what are the models of the monitor and video card? Is it an LCD or CRT monitor? What resolution does it try or recommend to run at and what resolution and refresh rate are you currently running?

You didn't say whether you're running x86 or x64 Windows so... The most recent drivers for that video card are here: http://www.nvidia.com/object/notebook-win7-winvista-258.96-whql-driver.html (x86) http://www.nvidia.com/object/notebook-win7-winvista-64bit-258.96-whql-driver.html (x64) Try loading the appropriate one and running in native resolution and see if it gets any better. If the notebook didn't ship with Windows 7 (ie. you performed an upgrade/fresh install) you may have to visit Acer's website and see it they have a .inf file for the display panel.

Yep. It'll download an .exe file. Run that and it'll do everything for you, just keep clicking OK. The installation'll create an nvidia folder in your root, you can leave this (it contains all the driver files you just installed, plus any supplemental files the installer required) or delete it after the installation finishes; your choice. Bob's Rule #4: Always use the drivers from the Mfg's website for video and network cards, never the ones from Windows Update as they're usually out-of-date before Microsoft even posts them.

I've got no more suggestions then. If the text is clear in Acrobat and blurry in everything else then it's probably not the video driver. I've actually got a similar, though not exactly the same, issue: a desktop PC running Windows 7 Pro x64 with an nVidia 8400 card and dual monitors. One of the monitors, a 23", is an Acer; the other, a 19", is an AOC. The text and icons on the AOC are blurry, while the Acer is sharp and clear. The funny thing is, when I unplug the Acer from the back of the PC the text on the AOC sharpens right up. I figure it's just something I'll have to live with; or replace the AOC, which isn't an option at the moment.

Can you please post a picture? Use your camera (not the snipping tool) to make a picture and upload it, so that we have an idea how "blurry" your test is."A programmer is just a tool which converts caffeine into code" CLIP- Stellvertreter http://www.winvistaside.de/

Hi, When did this issue occur for the fisrt time? Can you associate with any software\hardware change? How about other application like Word, Excel, Powerpoint, will they show blurry text too? In case it is due to software confliction, I will suggest prepare clean boot to troubleshoot. Clean Boot prevents software conflicts by preventing the startup items and non Microsoft services from loading. This way you can safely follow the process of elimination to check which application is causing this behavior. Refer: How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7 http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135 Note: Ensure that you put your computer back to normal startup mode after completing the troubleshooting steps. Steps are available in the article given above. Meanwhile, you can type “sfc /scannow” in the start menu and press Enter. This can check for and repair Windows system file integrity issues. Regards,Please remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question. This can be beneficial to other community members reading the thread.

Had the same problem after switching from a crt monitor to a lcd. Had to go to Native Resolution(1080P in my case) which made everything too small. went to control panel >display and changed it to 125% all good now. For those that have not seen this problem it is like Microsoft| TechNet at the very top of this page right side corner. Well more like |TechNet. It will appear again if using the magnifier tool. This is not an issue with XP Pro sp2 or Vista x64 all ran on this machine. JB

Hi, To help us understand the issue, could you tell us when did this issue occur for the fisrt time? How do other applications like Word, Excel, Powerpoint act? I suggest change to another font as a test. Aslo you can boot into Safe mode to check the result. If the issue disappear in Safe mode, then it may have something to do with certain driver.
