I downloaded window 7 filesuccessfully but when I tried to burn this file to DVD with an ISO image burner, it does not recognize the file. When I went into properties of this downloadedfile, I found out that it is not an ISO file rather it is an ASPX file. Does anybody know what is this aspx file & how to burn it tomake an installableDVD so that I can install window 7 on my machine. Thanks.

The windows 7 file is an ISO. I would check the file size, perhaps something went wrong or you are selecting the wrong file? Did you get the latest build fromhttp://www.microsoft.com/windows/windows-7/beta-download.aspx

Hi khanmeraj The file extension ASPX is simply a Web Form for a website. Right click that file,select properties and you will probably see that it is a very small file. You need to go back and download the beta ISO again. Hope this helps. Ronnie Vernon MVP

Thanks Dear Vernon, After right clicking the file I selected properties & it shows- Type of file aspx file Size 2.43 GB and this file is not recognized by iso burner. I can download the file again but want to know what went wrong with this download & if it can be corrected. I searched most of the sites answering window 7 related problems but nobody has reported this problem before.

khanmeraj,Try renaming the file from .aspx to .iso then try burning it again to see if that works.To change the file extension bring up Explorer, press Alt to show the the manu bar, click Tools > Folder Options, click the View tab and untick "Hide extensions for known file types" then press OK.The file should now show the filename and the extension. Rename it from filename.aspx to filename.iso then try burning it again.
