Window 7 home group stopped internet access
Asking this question on behalf of a friend. Have Win7 home edition. Whe Win7 was connecting to the internet fine. My friend decided to create a home group to connect to another computer (WinXP) using the same printer. Now they can not connect to the internet. The Win7 show that the network card is active but they are not able to access the internet. I am not that farmiler with Win7 yet. I believe that my friend needs to remove the home group so that they can access the internet. If you have a suggestion on how to trouble shoot this, it would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, First, I would like to explain that only Windows 7 can join HomeGroup and the feature does not affect Internet Connection. Windows XP cannot be included in the group. For more information about the feature, please refer to the link below: Windows 7 features Based on current situation, please refer to the following article to leave HomeGroup. leave HomeGroup If the issue persists after leaving HomeGroup, I suggest you run the Troubleshooting Tool in Network and Sharing Center to check whether the problem can be detected. Thanks, Novak
