Windows7 System Image File
I created a Windows7 System Image File on an external disk drive and a System Repair disk. But after searching, googling and binging, I can't find out what to do to keep this image current. When I do regular system backups using Norton backup, new and changed files are backed up but since the system image file is a snapshot of my entire set of programs and files, do I just delete the previous system image regularly and create a new system image file? How do I keep this image up-to-date?

Hello kkova, Yup, you have the right idea on keeping your image up to date. I ususally keep two image files for backup on an external HD just like your doing. Then each month I create a new image and delete the oldest version manually, leaving two recent versions. Your right on target. williamdinbc

Hi, If you backup system image to the same location again, older system image backups on the target that could be overwritten. Try re-running the system image backup and you will get this information.Vivian Xing - MSFT
