Windows 7, Create a System Image Fails - 0x8078000C (The specified backup storage location is invalid)
We're unable to create system images to target directories on our NAS (Synology DS410) and get the error 0x8078000C almost immediately. Windows Backup will likewise fail if a system image is included in the backup, but will succeed if the system image is not included. The NAS is not mapped locally and I've run "net use * /d /y" to confirm that. There's no problem with read/write permissions as we can copy files to the target directory manually and also via Windows Backup. I've got no idea why this is failing - there's only a few hits searching on the error code and while this is similar, it's unclear if the author was able to create the system images. We're running Windows 7 Pro, Enterprise & Ultimate. Cheers, James

Hi, In the similar thread, he can create the System Image When he removing the Network Drive as a mapped drive. If the Network Drive is Mapped as a local drive, I assume the System Image will be created include the Network Drive’s files, so there is not enough space to create. In your situation, I also suspect that the System Image is more than your Network Drive capacity, so you need to check whether your computer is mapped any Network Drive. If so, please remove it to have a try. For more information, please refer to the following link: http://en.community.dell.com/support-forums/software-os/f/3524/p/19333373/19700585.aspx#19700585
