Windows 7Enterprise---Windows XP Networking Issue
Here is the setup: 2 laptops, one with W7/Home and one with W7/Enterprise, both wireless through a Netgear WPN824N router. One desktop with XP Pro wired to the router. The router is relatively new. When I got the Netgear set up, all was
well. Now when I power up the laptop with W7/Enterprise it does not see the desktop unless I power off the router and power it back on. The 2 W/7 machines see each other and the W7/Home machine sees the desktop. Any thoughts?

Hi,
You may try to ping the Windows 7 Home form Windows 7 Enterprise when it was started.
I suspect this issue is caused by the router and not related to Windows 7, so try to update the firmware of the router to latest version for a test.

Make sure all computers are on the same subnet (none are 169.x.x.x).
Disable HomeGroup services on the 7 boxes.
Try turning off XP firewall to see if that makes a difference if it's not already off.
Try connecting via IP instead of hostname just to see if it works.
Try pinging by both IP & hostname (difference?).

Check the Windows 7 machines and make sure the Computer Browser service is set to Automatic and is started. This is set to Manual in Windows 7 by default whereas in earlier versions of Windows it was set to Automatic.
