Windows 7 64 Bit - Power Failure Problem
I know its not really something that would usually be tested, but its the reason i've stopped using the beta. When i experience a power failure while running the beta, it will no longer boot when theres power again. I have to insert the installation disk and repair my installation, i wouldn't mind doing this but it takes so long just to get the the repair bit. Which is why i've decided to discontinue using the beta.Sometimes plugging and unplugging appliances into the plug sockets within my room upsets the power slightly causing the pc to power off. This i dont really have a problem with because every other OS has been fine with it and starts up fine on next boot. But i would like to know why it is corrupting the boot files? Surely windows shouldn't be touching them for them to be corrupted on a power failure.I have experienced this problem several times and was wondering if anyone else has experienced it?

I know I'm kinda being a jerk by not answering your question, but I gotta know why you haven't invested $40 or so in a UPS. Not just to stop this Win7 problem, but to prevent losing your work.As to the Win7 problem, in such an unstable power situation, you really should go into Device Manager and check the Policies tab of each of your Disk Drives. "Enable write caching" should be unchecked.
