Windows 7 64bit conflicts with server 2000
we are having problems with windows explorer, Autocad 2011 and Inventor 2011 crashing. We are running windows 7 64 bit on the workstations and server 2000 on the server. could the crashes be a result of compatability between the OS and the server?

Hi, Based on my understanding, they are two different things, the crashes of application are not related to Server. The crash of Windows Explorer may be caused by the 3rd party extensions, you may determine whether the 3rd party cause this issue in Clean Boot or Safe Mode. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/331796 Meantime, separate the explorer process to two different processes and then use the Process Monitor to check the threads in the explorer process. This can let you know that the explorer invoked what kind of dll files and better trouble-shooting your issue. You may also use ShellExView to disable 3rd party plug-ins. Download Process Monitor at http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb896645. Regarding the crashes of Autocad 2011 and Inventor 2011, I think you may contact the software publisher for assistance or try to reinstall them for a test.
