Windows 7 Australian Domain Connection Problems
We are an American branch of an Australian Company and i am having trouble connecting my new windows 7 pro to the Australian domain. The IT dept that the Australian company subcontracts got my Outlook to work, however i still am not a member of the Australian
domain. What could be wrong and how can i fix the problem? The laptop i use is a member of a workgroup and my boss who is in the same building cannot even share files since he is a member of the domain and i am not. He is running XP however. I know almost
nothing about networking so any information would be greatly appreciated. We are going to be hiring new employees soon and will face the same problem as we acquire new computers.

The domain controller should in your local site. Otherwise you cannot join the domain except you connect to the remote domain controller via VPN.
