Windows 7 BSOD on shutdown
Hi there.
Realativily new system around 2 months for most components except GPU. Every time I go to shut down the computer I get a BSOD started happening around 2 weeks ago however haven't updated any hardware/drivers which might have caused this. Normally
I would try to read the Minidump file created except it's not creating one. Every time ill get the blue screen and it will just hang there and have to hold power button to turn off have tried waiting over an hour but nothing happens.
"Kernal data inpage error" was the exception it used.
Unsure of what to do please help.

Please use Microsoft Skydrive to upload dump files (%systemroot%\minidumps like c:\windows\minidumps) and post a link here.
Once done, I will download them and analyze them.
If you want to debug dump files without my help, use Windbg and refer to this Microsoft article:

Check your settings for creating the minidump. Go to Control Panel > System > Advanced and click on the Startup and Recovery Settings button. Make sure something other than (none) is in the Write Debugging Information box, and that there's a path
in the Directory box. Then you can upload it as per Mr. X's suggestion.

@ SC Tom System is set to create a small dump file (256k)
I set the computer to shutdown and the same thing happened BSOD "Kernal data inpage error" and no dump file
was created. It just continued to hang on the Blue screen.
The last successful BSOD dump created was on the 25th of January 2011 that was driver
related and I havent had any since.
DXDiag infomation is here. http://cid-36c221e79c769f80.office.live.com/self.aspx/Other/DxDiag.txt

Are there any entries in the event log around the time you get the BSOD?
I did a Google for "Kernel data inpage error windows 7" and got plenty of hits. If nothing comes of your post here, you might try that, although that's a lot of info to sort through.

There have been 10 entries in the event log.
All of these events have come from the same source "Kernel-Power" and are all under the Critical tab and all relate to the same problem.
This is what I pulled from the log dont know if it helps.

No dump is being created on the BSOD instead it just hangs on the screen and wont continue shutting down.

"Kernal data inpage error" means reading from pagefile fails, so you should check the HDD (cables, the HDD it self).
Run a diagnostic tool from your HDD manufacture.

Primary boot hard drive is an OCZ 80 GB revo drive. Couldnt find anything on the OCZ fourms or any support tools for this drive.
(Revo drive is a pci e based ssd. THe only connection is straight into the pci-e slot.)

I don't use a SSD. Ask the OCZ support."A programmer is just a tool which converts caffeine into code"

Any idea why it wouldnt be creating a minidump file?

dump data are written the pagefile first before they are writting to the dmps. And your Windows has issue reading data from the pagefile, so you don't get dumps."A programmer is just a tool which converts caffeine into code"
