Windows 7 Backup Credentials (to network share) conflict with Logged on User
I've configured all the machines on my home network to back up to my server running SBS 2011. All machines are either Windows 7 Professional x64 or Ultimate x64. The backup is configured to back up to a network share, using a service account I've created for this exact purpose. The backup works perfectly, even when I'm not logged on to the desktop, as desired, and each client has been given it's own partition / LUN on the server to back up to, so it can manage the backup space itself. The strange behaviour I'm having, is that Outlook 2010, when using cached mode and RPC over HTTP, comes up with my service account credentials when Outlook is opened. This isn't the end of the world, but a bit frustrating when I have to change the user name every time and put in my own user name. I think it may be to do with the Action Center component of the backup, keeping an open pipe to the server using my service account. It may also be an issue whereby Windows 7 doesn't like multiple connections to the same server using different credentials? The Block Level Backup Engine Service is running as Local System, as is the default setting. My question is, how do I make this part seamless, as when rolling this out for clients, I would hate for them to be offered a service account name and cause them confusion.Aussie Tech

Hi Aussie, I would like to explain that Windows cannot use different user account to connect to a same server at a same time. Regards Vincent Wang TechNet Community Support
