Windows 7 Backup failure
I'm attemping to backup to a internal drive and the backup fails: I get 2 logs out to the VSS
Volume Shadow Copy Service error: Internally transferred WRITER_METADATA document is invalid.
Operation:
PrepareForBackup eventThe Second:
Fail to parse XML file.
Reason Reference to an undefined attribute type "service"

Hi,
You can perform the following troubleshooting suggestions to check this issue.
Suggestion 1: Run Disk Error-checking.
Suggestion 2: Run System File Checker
========================
1. Click “Start” button, “All Programs” and “Accessories”, right click on “Command Prompt” and select “Run as administrator”.
2. Type "SFC /Scannow" (without quotation marks) and press “Enter”.
Suggestion 3: Verify the VSS service
========================
1. Click “Start”, type "services.msc" (without quotation marks) in the Search bar and press Enter.
Note: If UAC (User Account Control) window is prompted for permission to continue, please click “Continue”.
2. Double click “Volume Shadow Copy Service” and switch to “General” tab.
3. Change the “Startup type” to “Automatic” and click “Apply”.
4. Click “Start” and click “OK”.
Suggestion 4: Test the issue in Clean Boot.

How to collect the System Information
========================
1. Press Start, type in msinfo32 in the Start Search bar and then press Enter.
2. Choose Save from the File menu and save it as an NFO file.
3. Find the file, right-click on this file, click "Send To", and click "Compressed (zipped) Folder".
4. Send the compressed file to us.
How to collect the Event Log
========================
1. Click "Start", input "eventvwr" (without quotation marks) in the Search bar and press Enter.
2. Right click on "Application" on the left frame, choose "Save Log file As"; in the pop-up window, click to choose the Desktop icon on the left frame, input "app" in the "File name" blank, and then click “Save”.
3. Right click on "System", with the same method, save it as "sys".
4. Locate the two saved log files on the Desktop and send them to us.
