Windows 7 Beta 7100 Freeze's on loadup
Hi!!! My name is Brandon, I have a HP 6780 SE laptop its a duel core 1.6 with 4 gigs of ram.... I used the system check tool before installing windows 7 back about 2 months ago... everything has gone great until this morning. I have been using it for about 2-3 months with no issue..but now when I start my laptop and it goes though the whole load up deal, and loads the desktop it stalls.... it just goes into the "working" mouse icon (little blue circle spinning" and does nothing.. I cannot open the start button, icons, right click or left click.. it just goes into loading/idle without any kind of indication from the CPU light that its working at all..... So I try all 3 safe modes..... I don't even make it to the desk top, it stops at the welcome screen with the "working" icon in motion. Being a beta user I have no install CD to run recovery from nor can I find the DVD I burned to install the beta version... Im really kind of lost of which way to go at this point. I hope someone can point me in the right direction :)Thanks in advance!!!

I have the same thing, but after a few reboots its gone... anyway, to get the deskstop working again you have to press shift 5-10 times, you will get a dialoge, the dialog is basicly a explorer window, so go to the desktop trough and wait a few sec, it should load.... good luck... Hretsam,

Hi,
Did you install any software or updates before this issue happening?
If Safe Mode does not work, you can choose Last Known Good Configuration. If it persists, choose "Repair your computer" from the boot menu and then load System Restore from the System Recovery Options dialog box.
If System Restore does not work, in the System Recovery Options dialog box, click Command Prompt. In Command Prompt, type in the following and press ENTER at each command:
BOOTREC /FIXMBR
BOOTREC /FIXBOOT
BOOTREC /REBUILDBCD
BOOTREC /SCANOS
C:
CHKDSK /RDoes it work?Vivian Xing - MSFT

I have tried all boot options from going to Safe mode, Safe mode w/ Networking, Safe Mode w/ Cmmd Prompt, and Last Know Good Configuration... Every option but start normaly would freeze on welcome screen, and even when you would load windows in normal mode it would freeze up... I had my start bar on auto hide and it would not bring it up and was un-responsive on trying to right or left click on icons... I did not install anything new and had up to date malware and virus ware.... maybe it was a fluke.... because It worked great before that wendsday...I finaly gave up on trying to recover from this problem so I ordered a Recovery Disc from HP and put the original factory disk image back on.... kinda really bummed because I lost alot of media from pictures to music to work files =( but I never made a recovery disc from the installation of windows 7 so its kind of my own fault.Back to Vista for me :)thanks for your response's
