Windows 7 Boot Loop
My Windows 7 computer 'crashed' the other night. It is stuck in a continuous boot loop. I've tried safe mode, it doesn't work. I've tried to get to system repair, both through the menu and Windows 7 Reinstallation CD, and it gets stuck and just doesn't load the repair screen. I've tried reinstalling/reformatting and it gets stuck on setup is starting. At this point, i'm not sure what else to do.

My kids PC did the same thing, the "image" of the Windows install CD that shipped with the kids computer, did the exact same thing. I had to contact the manufacture and get them to send me a real physical Windows 7 Home DVD, then perform a fresh clean installation, their system is up and running just fine, for now till they blow it up.

Hi, You may try to insert the Windows 7 Installation Disk, then launch Windows RE to perform System Recovery to recover a working state. Juke, his issue, sounds like what I ran into, that you run the RE process and it appears to fix it, then it reboots and goes right into the "loop" again. I went throught a half dozen reboots and trying to restore from a previos state. In the end I think it boiled down to ASUS stuff they preloaded to the system. Upon rebuild I left thier "extras" off the machine and it works like a champ. If you Bing! for Windows 7 endless rebooting, etc.. you will see posts in many forums of people having this bug. I don't know the link offhand, but I believe there is a bug that has been submitted to MS on this issue.

Hi, I do not think it is a bug. Based on my experience, sometimes it is caused by the certain boot files which are tampered. Please remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question. In order to resolve this Windows 7 Boot Loop, you should first make sure you disconnect all USB drivers that might be connected to the computer because it might be used for ReadyBoost and therefore cause Windows to boot again. If you computer restarted because of a system failure and now would stop rebooting you might want to disable automatic restart.
