Windows 7 Bug: BSD on target host connecting to Windows 7 shares
When connecting to a network share on a Windows 7 Professional host, thetarget host (server) immediately blue-screens. This behavior is repeatable and consistent.Scenario: Two Windows 7 Professional hosts were tested. One host had a fresh load using the HP standard image. The second host had a fresh load using the Microsoft retail DVD. Both hosts are members of a Windows Server 2003 R2 hosted ActiveDirectory domain running in Native Mode. Default network settings are used on both hosts, obtaining IPv4 addresses via DHCP. Domain administrative accounts were used in all scenarios.Tests were performed in the following manner:1) Windows 7 Professional client to the C$ administrative share on a Windows 7 Professional target host.2) Windows 7 Professional client to an explicit, read-only share on a Windows 7 Professional target host.3) Windows XP client to the C$ administrative share on a Windows 7 Professional target host.4) Windows XP client toan explicit, read-only share on a Windows 7 Professional target host.In all scenarios, the target Windows 7 Professional host immediately blue-screens. This behavior could be duplicated100% of the time.

Hi, Please try the following to have a check: 1. Boot the computers to Safe Mode with networking and see how it works; if the issue didnt work, please perform a clean boot to check if the issue persists: To perform a Clean Boot, please refer to: How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7 2. Ensure that the NIC driver is up-to-date. If the issue persists, please collect a minidump for our further research: Collect Minidump Files ================= 1. Click "Start", input "SYSDM.CPL" (without quotation marks) in the Search bar and press Enter. 2. Switch to the "Advanced" tab and click the "Settings" button under "Startup and Recovery". 3. Under "Write debugging information" section, make sure the "Small memory dump (128KB)" option is selected. 4. Make sure "%SystemRoot%\Minidump" is in the "Small dump directory" open box and click OK. If the Blue Screen appears again, please refer to the following steps to collect memory dump files: 1. Click Start, type %SystemRoot%\Minidump" (without quotation marks) in Search bar and press Enter. 2. Go to your Desktop, right-click on it and create a new folder named "Dump". 3. Copy all the memory dump files (looks like [Mini092008-01.dmp]) in Minidump to this folder. 4. Right-click on the Dump folder, click "Send To", and click "Compressed (zipped) Folder". For your convenience, I have created a workspace for you. You can upload the package via the following link.
