Windows 7 FTP Client always tries to open home directory
Hello Everyone, I think i've narrowed this down to to Winodws 7 issue. I have an IIS FTP server with User Isolation NOT SET with users starting in the FTP Root Dir. This works just fine on windows XP cmd line client and other 3rd party clients as well a linux systems. However on Windows 7 both the cmd client and 3rd party clients always try to open the home direcotry resulting in the following FTP error: 530 User Cannot log in, home drive inaccessible. Has anyone else had this issue with Window 7? Thanks Adam.Adam Pickett

Hi, Thanks for posting in Microsoft TechNet forums. When creating the site the Customer had checked the User Isolation Level .. In the metabase this was reflected as UserIsolationMode = 1 When this is set there needs to be a folder structure under the root of the FTP site in the following manner C:\Inetpub\FtpRoot\LocalUser\UserA Where the user is a Local User and the username is UserA More on setting this up is in the Help topic : "Isolation FTP Users " To resolve this either the directory structure must be created or UserIsolation set to 0 Best Regards Magon Liu TechNet Subscriber Support in forum.
