Windows 7 Fax & Scan
We have Windows 7 installed on both a Lenov T61 and a Lenov W500 laptop. The T61 can send multiple PDF attachments using windows Fax & Scan while the W500 can not. Are there any settings to resolve this issue?Scott Van Der Weele

Hi Scott, Would you please let me know what the error message is received from Windows Fax & Scan? You can capture a screenshot of the error message to clear the issue. How to capture a screenshot -------------------------------- 1. When the error message occurs, press the Print Screen key (PrtScn) on your keyboard. 2. Click the "Start" menu, type "mspaint" in the Search Bar and Press Enter. 3. In the Paint program, click the "Edit" menu, click "Paste", click the "File" menu, and click "Save". 4. Save the picture onto your desktop and Upload to SkyDrive. Meanwhile, I suggest running System File Checker to repair the corrupted system file. Please open a CMD window with the Administrator Privileges and type the following command: sfc /scannow Regards, NikiPlease remember to click "Mark as Answer" on the post that helps you, and to click "Unmark as Answer" if a marked post does not actually answer your question. I have not been able to go on site to run the command for repair that you suggest. However the error message is as follows: Wndows can not fax or preview the attached file type. Try installing a program that allows you to print .tif files, save the attached file as a .tif, and then try again. The attachment is not a tif, it is a PDF. Scott Van Der Weele

Hi, When you fax a document, the fax service searches for the document type that is attached to the fax message. Then, the Fax service calls the print to verb for that document type. If the call to the print to verb is successful, the Fax service generates a Tagged Image File Format (.tif) output file to represent the document that is attached to the fax message. Probably the document you are sending doesn’t support the print to verb and hence this may be happening. Convert the files to Tagged Image File (.tif) Format before you attach the document to the fax message. Also, check if the issue occurs with all PDF files.
