Windows 7 Group Policy
My company is trying to cut costs and it is my job to set all PC's to sleep after so long. The option to allow the PC to sleep won't let me set a time limit because it is blocked by group policy. Any ideas how to change this?

I found where I can edit group policy settings by running gpedit.msc but I have no idea what needs enabled/disabled to allow me to change sleep settings.

Hi, It looks like you can use the following article to guide you through the process of setting up your domain for energy savings: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/magazine/cc462804.aspx Thanks, John

I read this article but am still unsure what to enable/disable so that I can go to each PC and change the sleep settings on that specific computer. I don't want the setting the same for each PC on the domain, I want to change them individually. Any assistance?

If you want to change the settings individually, you can put computers on which you want to set the same timeout into a OU and then create GPO for these computers. Then use same method to configure other computers.
