Windows 7 Home Server - Connecting to Internet through VPN Server
Hello, We setup a VPN server on Windows Home Premium however we cannot access the internet on the client end without split tunneling. Is there a solution to enable internet connection through the VPN Server running Windows 7 Home Premium v 6.1 SP1? Please note that on the client end we do not want to split tunnel but want to use solely the VPN server for internet access. I have read other threads such as this one: http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/winserverNIS/thread/8db49948-1962-408b-9996-4a9584b3500d/ This thread solves my problem using RRAS and Server Manager. If there is no solution with Windows Home Premium, then we can upgrade to Professional or Ultimate so we can attempt to implement the solution in the above thread. Which would you suggest, Professional or Ultimate? It is our understanding we need Professional or Ultimate to download the right programs. What are the programs we would need and where can we download them?. Thank you, Sarabo

I would suggest you to go with Ultimate. For this setup you can use any of your 2003 or 2008 servers as the RRAS server. Thanks P_K, I have a followup question. If we upgrade to Ultimate will we still need a 2003 or 2008 server? Or will be able to download RRAS Server program to Ultimate and do it this way.

Yes for RRAS you need a server and for that you need either 2003 or 2008/R2 server.
