Windows 7 Librairies - Files/Folders Locking
Hi,
I'm in a business environment where we benefit from a personal network drive. Instead of using the drive as a backup for my computer's documents, I decided to point my Windows 7 Librairies to it directly. Overall, this works wonder, however I often run into
this particular issue:
When renaming/moving files or folders, it happens that a file/folder becomes locked. For instance, I wanted to rename a folder with a "_" leading character but unfortunately I overwrote the full foldername with "_" (so the folder was called _). I then
tried to rename it back to what it was, however I'm unable to do so as Explorer reports that "The file is being used by another application" and thus, can't be renamed.
It took at least 3 minutes before the lock was actually released. Is this a known issue?
And also, this happens to me frequently enough that it's not just a random network lag. It's as if the syncronization between the local computer and the distant drive sometimes kicks in, then waits for no reason, and then performs a few actions and closes
itself.

Try a different user profile. see how that is performing. If does the same thing, we need another computer to see if it has the same problem, if this is a general problem with everyone then it needs Microsoft's attention directly. Please do not forget to select the best answer if it helps you!
