Windows 7 Login Failure
Trying to logon to a domain PC using a smart card I get the following error: "The system could not log you on. The smart card certificate used for authentication was not trusted." Logged in with a local account, checked the event viewer to find: "The Domain Controller rejected the client certificate of user *********@mil, used for smartcard logon. The following error was returned from the certificate validation process: A certificate chain could not be built to a trusted root authority." The smartcards certificates are x.509v3, I've ensured that the proper trusted root certification authorities are installed, and this problem is only going to become more widespread as more users get these newer smart cards. Is this a local PC problem? A server problem? Where can I look for more info to pinpoint this issue?
