Windows 7 Multiple Display witht Remote Apps
0 Hello Techy's! I just upgraded a client environment from XP/Vista to Windows 7. This environment also has a windows 2008 standard server that runs remote apps. Each user has a multiple display set up. Pre windows 7 upgrade all users remote apps spanned over the multiple displays just as expected. Post windows 7 upgrade, all works prefectly except one user ( just happens to be the owner too.) RDP session can span across the multiple monitors but if i launch an remote app from the windows installer version, it will not span, it stays witin the main monitor. The userser environment is as follows: windows 73 21 inch monitors with resolutions set at 1280 x 1024. All other spanning works great except the remote apps from the windows installer. Thanks Paul Beard

Hi Paul, Remote Desktop Connection supports high-resolution displays that can be spanned across multiple monitors. However, the total resolution on all monitors must be under 4096 x 2048 pixels. For more infomraiton: Remote Desktop Services (Terminal Services) Team BlogHope it helps.

Hello, thanks for your response. The clientpc used to run vista ultimate and it worked fine there. As soon as i upgraded to windows 7, we no longer can span remote apps over the multiple screens. Could this bea hardware ( video card) limitation now?Resolutions are under the specified limits. Thanks

Microsoft let everybody use free Ultimate trial. So you were using multiple monitors on remote desktop. Now you have to pay to upgrade your version of Windows 7 to Ultimate use this feature. Microsoft allows Professional to display Remote Desktop on one monitor only.
