Good day - sorry for my bad english.. Please help me with a serios problem with Windows 7 and Excel 2007. Note: since the problem effects only Office 2007 ON Windows 7 - not Office 2007 on Vista or XP this has to be the right group for this problem. Original system: Windows 2008 Server with simple network shar (no mapped profiles, just a drive letter for the share), Windows 7 pro Client with Office 2007 The problem can be reproduced with ANY Windows XP SP3 acting as network share and Windows 7 pro Client with Office 2007 (no Security SW, no other programs - clean install, just Office 2007 and systemdrivers) Problem: If I open an XLS(X) file from any network drive (no difference if it is mapped with Driveletter or just used with UNC Path and no other network share is used) from explorer window with double click from a folder with about 50 excel files (no other files are there) it may be immediatly or after opening a few files after each other, excel freezes for about 1 minute (no response appeares in title bar). after about one minute everything is fine again. The same issue when using the "open" dialog Notes: - while excel is not responding a grey search bar builds ub in the adress bar of the explorer windows. (same as appeares when using the windows search function) - problem exists also if no other machine uses the server/share - problem only exists on windows 7 clients - not on VISTA or XP clients - the office "open find" function is already disabled - no difference - windows netword TCP autotuning function already disabled (netsh interface tcp set global autotuning=normal ) - no difference - smb2 can't be the issuce since XP doesn't support it anyway (when actinge as network share) - I think it is a problem auf "windows network autorefresh" (which loads the whole folderinformation if any changes in this folder are done (as excel surely does because of temp files) and while autorefresh is in progress the network freezes so excel can not do anything and waits until a response from the networkdrive is there already tried anything suggested in this documents: http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/w7itproappcompat/thread/fe2dd0b0-c831-45ef-bb56-501e4fae53c7 http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/excel/thread/a652c006-afdd-43f5-b872-bd5763bf0417 thank you for any help mfg daniel schmatz
