Windows 7 Network Packet Loss After Windows Updates
I just updated a Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 machine on the LAN and am now noticing 50-100% packet loss. The only change tonight was installing some Windows 7 hotfixes. (This machine does not do much other than transcode video.). At 7/13/2012 7:47PM the following hotfixes were installed: Installation Successful: Windows successfully installed the following update: Security Update for Windows 7 (KB2691442)Installation Successful: Windows successfully installed the following update: Security Update for Windows 7 (KB2718523)Installation Successful: Windows successfully installed the following update: Security Update for Windows 7 (KB2698365)Installation Successful: Windows successfully installed the following update: Security Update for Windows 7 (KB2719985)Installation Successful: Windows successfully installed the following update: Security Update for Windows 7 (KB2655992)Installation Successful: Windows successfully installed the following update: Cumulative Security Update for Internet Explorer 9 for Windows 7 (KB2719177)Installation Successful: Windows successfully installed the following update: Windows Update Aux OS is Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 (32-bit) It is a member of a Windows active directory domain. Disabling/Renabling the wired network adapter does not resolve the issue. The wireless adapter (came with the motherboard) does not have the issue (workaround for now). The problem began after the reboot for the windows update hotfixes. The machine original role was a HTPC but now just transcodes video.

Well wish the rest of my issues where that easy. Reinstalled the wired network driver (an older nVidia ION system board) and now it's happy again.

I had the exact same issue today too! and your suggested fix worked; removed the adapter from device manager and rebooted. I wonder which of the above updates causes this to happen.
