Windows 7 Premium Black Sceen
Ok, So I had the laptop and its new but it was working perfectly fine yesterday. I tried remembering what I did yesterday and I downloaded some file called form1. So it didn't open. But when I woke up today the screen was black. I restarted it and did CTRL + ALT + DEL and all I saw was Form1. When I right click and click to view it on Processes it takes me to it and the name of it is Windows Update.exe I ended the process + ended task. So I went and read around some other topics like these. So I tried running in safe mode and it was also black. I was able to do the ctrl + alt + del and i clicked new task and went to the control panel folder. I tried updating but it never did. It was stuck on preparing update. I went and I looked for the Form 1 File but didn't find it. So I was thinking about doing a system restore but the thing is I don't have any dates mark and I can't lose my files. Does anyone know how to fix this? EDIT: The description of the file is "decay sub project" This is the file's location; C:\Users\Exequiel\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft Size: 24.6 KB Size on Disk: 28.0KB

Hi, Where the form1 file came from? Can the computer boot normally? Does the Windows Explorer works after starting up the computer. If the computer cannot boot normally, you could try System Restore in WinRE. (Start computer, keep pressing F8, choose Startup Repair and then choose System Restore). If the computer can boot both in Normal Mode and Safe Mode. Please understand Windows Update cannot be run in Safe Mode due to service not running. You should check for updates in Normal Mode and find which updates were installed before the issue occurring. If Windows Update can be run successfully and no update is installed recently, go to check the theme. (Right click the desktop -> personalize -> choose the built-in Aero theme) In addition, if any update is installed, the restore point should exist. Please refer to the following article to perform the System Restore if needs. http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/help/videos/fixing-a-problem-using-system-restore Best Regards, NikiPlease remember to click "Mark as Answer" on the post that helps you, and to click "Unmark as Answer" if a marked post does not actually answer your question.
