Windows 7 Pro 64 bit experiencing repeated unexpected shutdown (power turns off)
I have a new (nov 2010) CompUSA custom pc with ASUS H55 mother board, Intel i3 550 cpu, 8gb (2*4gb) Corsair XMS3 Ram, Seagate 1TB hard drive, Galaxy GeForce GT220 1gb graphics, Ultra LS500 power supply, and windows 7 Professional 64 bit (oem dvd), loded with MS office 10, Adobe Reader 9, AVG 2011 (free), QuickBooks Pro 2011 and Open Office 3.2, Product Key Finder, HP Officejet Pro 8500 and Seagate Replica 2TB backup drive that powers completely off unexpectedly. there is no problem in re booting. the power supply was changed, but the problem continues. Any ideas what needs to be done?

Is it perhaps overheating? Check the CPU fan is fitted correctly. Does you have any utilities installed which monitor the temperature, or can you see in the BIOS perhaps? It doesn't sound like a Windows problem I am afraid, I would put the problem back to whoever built the PC.Alan Moseley

Also unplug all unnecessary hardware and login with Safe Mode to see if the same issue occurs. If the issue persists, the problem should related with hardware.
