Windows 7 Professional - Backup to network drive failed...
Hi everyone,
After doing some research and not finding an answer, I've decided to post my question.
We have a Windows 2008 R2 server with hard drives in a RAID5 configuration, and a special partition specifically for backing up my copy of Windows 7 Professional, which is mapped as a network drive. We also have a shared drive (also a partition), which is mapped as a network drive on each of the computers here. In addition to file sharing, this particular server is also used for printer services, DHCP, DNS, and Active Directory.
At this time, I have not been able to successfully complete a backup to the network drive. I keep getting a notice saying:
Check your backup: The specified backup storage location is invalid.
Backup location: \\ServerNameHere\ChrisBackup\
Error code: 0x8078000C
I have tried changing the backup settings, to no avail. After looking through some articles on this site, I also went through the registry... nothing.
I would be very grateful if someone could assist.
Thank you so much!
-Chris

SOLUTION: After removing my backup drive as a mapped drive, the backup worked.
