Just installed a Win 7 Pro 64 bit PC on a workgroup and cannot see the XP PCs on it. I can see other shares e.g. network printer and also a Vista PC and Win 7 (32 bit) PC. The Win 7 32bit PC can see the XP PCs. This has been asked before and i have tried the solutions with no success. I cannot believe how hard this is. All machines are set to the workgroup name. I can ping the XP PCs but cannot access them with \\ipaddress or \\ipaddress\share. Node type is hybrid and I have tried flushing the DNS cache, deleting the host file etc. Not sure what I have missed...it appears to be unique to this PC and I wonder if it is related to being the 64 bit edtion.
