I have a Dell PC and a Dell Laptop on a wireless Homegroup. Both computers can access the internet. The wireless router is a Verizon Jetpack. From each computer, the other computer shows as being a part of the network. However, the problem is that neither computer can access the hard drive of the other computer. All sharing settings (as far as I know) are set for full sharing. Network diagnostics on the laptop state that the network appears to be configured correctly, but the other computer cannot be accessed. Network diagnostics on the PC states that the router connection to the internet is broken, however it isn't because internet access works fine. Any ideas? Frustrating!!!

Turning firewall off doesn't solve the problem. Allowing Kaspersky as a program the Windows firewall lets in is also configured. I'm running Kaspersky on both computers.Jeff Niccum

Jeff Niccum Is your kaspersky a AV or Internet security that comes with firewall? If is the latter i suggest you to uninstall it on both pc, once done reboot both your comp & try sharing & accessing the drive again. Please remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question. I finally figured out the problem. I disabled the Windows AND Kaspersky firewall and was able to connect! On the laptop, both Kaspersky and Windows firewalls are operating simultaneously and the PC CAN access the laptop. However with both Kaspersky and Windows firewalls enabled on the PC, the laptop was once again blocked from accessing the PC. Disabling the Kaspersky firewall on the PC enables access to the PC from the laptop. The Windows firewall setting is configured to allow the Kaspersky program. I don't know why both firewalls enabled on the laptop work and doesn't work on the PC. Oh well - at least the problem is solved. I really appreciate you assistance with this!! You too YahyaZahedi!Jeff Niccum
