Windows 7 RC1 x64, NTLDR is missing
Hello,I have been using windows 7 RC1x64, this morning my PC froze when i tried to use it. Nothuing strange was going on, but i was not using virus protection and my PC was connected to the internet. I tried to choose reboot from the start meu buit just went a black screen with cursor, So i pressed the reboot button, now it say NTLDR mising after the BOIS screen.I have searched web an some one said it was an XP error. I used to have Vista, but formated the PC and installed a clean copy of Wndows 7 RC1. I dont know what happened. Ill just format the computer, but does anyone know of this error?

Kurtlane2,At this point, it could be several things. Power spike/brownout, dead hard drive, bad motherboard/sata/raid drivers... I use to lose machines at work just like this from being too near some powerful machines.Let's see how your formatting goes and see if your drive has S.M.A.R.T. features so you can see if anything is wrong.

I formated the hard drive with the Windows & RC1 disc and deleted all the partitions, it seams to be working from scratch. before Formating it i tried all the Restore options in the Window 7 Setup menus and tried to roll back setting with system restore. it didn't work. I am using a surge protector, ive never had any problems with the hard drive, Its unexplained, but if it happens again i will replace the hard drive.Kurt.
