Windows 7 RC IE8 & Opening subfolders in new windows
I have installed the new Windows 7 RC and It worked perfectly fine but later I installed some updates and then the IE8 new tabs will not load (eg: If I right clicked on a link and then select " Open in new tab", the page will not load) and also when I open a subfolder it opens in a new window even if the folder options are configured to open in the same window. I tried to restore my Windows and it worked but it uninstalled some programs for me which took time to reinstall them. I downloaded McAfee Total Protection 2009 Beta and installed it and when I rebooted my PC the same problem happened again and I really don't wish to restore the Windows or reinstall it cause the Antivirus software took time to be installed since my internet connection is a bit slow. I would be thankful for any help provided. EDIT: I restored my pc and it worked normally. And again after installing McAfee Total Protection Beta the same problem happened again. Does the antivirus software have conflicts with the windows? Is there a way to fix it or I should not install the program again?

Hussein.A,I've read a lot about this lately, and it is not specifically a Windows 7 issue, but rather an Internet Explorer 8 issue. In that reading, I have also seen reference to other programs affecting this.Internet Explorer 8 help can be obtainedonthis page. You might also try the McAfee support forums to see if there is an answer there.

Hussein.A,You probably want to try these things (in this order):1. Ensure you are running Windows 7 RC (build 7100).2. Make sure you installed Windows 7 RC from a Microsoft site (such as here), not a third-party site. Third-party sites are notorious for injecting viruses and spyware into the media.3. As dwolters suggests, try the McAfee support forums (or call them) to see if McAfee is causing the issue. As you indicated, it is a beta product.4. Uninstall McAfee and reboot, just to see if that fixes the problem and you will know for sure if it is McAfee or not.5. As a last resort and only after uninstalling McAfee and rebooting, if it still doesn't work, uninstall/reinstall IE8. You do this by following this procedure: Click the Start button and type Turn Windows features on or off and select the program when it comes up in the list. Uncheck Internet Explorer 8, click OK, follow the prompts and reboot. Do the same procedure to install Internet Explorer 8 again. You should not need the installation media.
