Windows 7 SP1 failed on 4 client machines
We have had 4 machines (2 from 1 client and 2 from another) who's machines have failed the SP1 update on Windows 7 64bit at around 98%... On booting the machines they show fatal errors. Is anyone else experiencing this issue, if so how can this be avoided. The though of some clients who have similar and same model machines on Windows 7 and the possibility of this issue is worrying.

Hi, Thanks for posting in TechNet forum. What's the error message you got? Please give us the detailed information. Try the following three steps firstly. 1. Run the System Update Readiness Tool. 2. Use the System File Checker tool (SFC.exe) to troubleshoot the system files. Then update the Service Pack 1 again to check if it works. If you still cannot install the update. I would like to check the CBS.log, open the folder c:\Windows\Logs\CBS\, zip all the files to one folder and upload it in a public folder via SkyDrive. In addition, refer to Troubleshoot problems in a service pack for Windows 7. Best Regards, Miya TechNet Subscriber Support in forum. Hi, Appologies for the delay. Issue was with the machines showing the Windows 7 SP1 Fatal Error 282. Rebuilt the workstations as all restore points missing. Installed the SP1 update from Technet ISO and installed with no problems. Kind Regards Aaron
