Windows 7 SP1 stopped accepting remote desktop connections
I'm getting a message: "The remote computer requires Network Level Authentication"
It used to work but suddenly stopped working. I'm connecting from another Windows 7 machine that supports NLA.
When I turn this requirement off in the host machine I can connect to it.
What is the reason it stopped working? How can I fix it?

Hi rastalian,
On your host machine, go to Control Panel\System and Security\System, clilck Remote Settings on the left panel, in the Remote tab, check "Allow connections only from computers running Remote Desktop with Network Level Authentication".
Then click "Select Users", click Add, add the problematic user name on guest machine. Click Apply-OK.
Then recheck if the remote desktop works.

Hi,
Thank you for the reply.
I did what you wrote but it doesn't work. I don't even get the authentication screen.
BTW, when I remove the Network Level Authentication I'm offered which user to login even when I pass it in the connection and mark the remember password. This started at the same time that the NLA stopped working.
Any other idea?
Thanks

Hi and thank you,
The value was 0. Nevertheless, I changed it to 1 and then couldn't connect at all (it just disabled the RDP).
So problem not solved yet.
