Windows 7 SP1 weird network issue with Delphi App and Oracle 11
I am updating my work computers to Windows 7 and have run into a strange problem. Goal: I have several in-house Delphi apps that connect to an Oracle Database in order to run. These apps work great in Windows XP and Windows 7. Problem: After installing service pack 1 (SP1), any time one of the apps is launched on a machine that is outside the subnet of the Oracle server, the program "freezes" on load and never finishes initializing. (On the same subnet as the Oracle server, the programs work fine.) It is only upon going across the building to another subnet that the program will never finish loading. (I tested this using a laptop and plugging it into jacks on each subnet.) Note: The problem only happens after installing Sp1. Ideas: I think there may be some small network setting that is new in SP1 that blocks certain communications. Any ideas or information would be great.

Hi durazno33, Please temporarily turn off the firewall/anti-virus application to check if the issue persists. Are there any related logs in Event Viewer? Since I cannot test this issue on my side, I suggest you use Network Monitor to capture the network traffic, comparing the working traffic with the problematic one, find if there's any hint.
