Windows 7 System Image Backup
I have a question about System Image Backup. (Win 7 Ultimate, 64-bit).I have chosen to take back for my system drive (C:), Windows says it will take around 29 GB.The properties on the actual "Windows Image Backup" folder shows the size around 29 GB. However The Windows backup menu "Manage Windows Backup disk space" shows double size "System Image: around 58 GB."Is Windows Backup storing my system images correctly?

Hi,The system image is an exact copy of your C drive, so the actual space for your system Image backup should be 29G, and you have confirmed the properties of the folder which stored the image backup. As your question, I would like to tell you that your system image is stored correctly, you can feel free to use it. If you want to get more informaion about the system image, you can read this blog.http://blogs.technet.com/filecab/archive/2009/10/31/learn-more-about-system-image-backup.aspxI hope this can help you. Hi iSilver Labs,The size shown on the Manage space UI indicates space occupied by both file and system image backup. Please read through http://blogs.technet.com/filecab/archive/2009/11/23/managing-backup-disk-space.aspx for details. Thanks,Sneha[MSFT]
