Windows 7 TCP/IPv4 and TCP/IPv6 settings
I've recently installed Windows 7 RC over a Vista Business OS and found the network settings had stopped working.More through luck than judgement I got the wireless network working using TCP/IPv4 settings; IP address - 192.168.0.22, Sub mask - 255.255.255.0, Default gateway 192.168.0.1, and Preferred DNS 192.168.0.2However, no matter what configurationI try I can't get local ethernet connection working. Can anyone tell me what settings I should enter toconfigure the local ethernet connection??? Also, what settings should I use for the TCP/IPv6My network configuration is laptop clients connected to a Windows Small Business Server 2003 in a Domain network.

Hi, Since you could connect with the wireless network, it should not be a network issue. Please make sure that when you try to connect with the Ethernet adapter, the wireless connection is disabled. If the issue still occurs, I suspect that the Ethernet adapter driver is not compatible with Windows 7 RC. I suggest that you try to download the latest driver from the laptop manufacturer's website, and then install it. If it does not help, please let us know if the issue is caused by DHCP. If so, I suggest that you upgrade the firmware of the router.Arthur Xie - MSFT
